Freshers' 2019

On 6th September, 2019 AIL hosted a freshers' party for the new members of AIL- the batch of 2024. The event is organised to welcome the first years, it is on this day that they truly become a part of the AIL family. The event was organised by the batch of 2023 who did an exemplary job at it. It was an evening full of shimmering lights, games, dance and highly excited and energised students. Jannat hayer and Nischay were crowned Miss and Mister Freshers respectively.

Thursday Activity: Law as a career

On 5th September, 2019 the multi purpose hall at Army Institute of Law was graced with the presence of Dr. Mandeep Mittal, Additional Member Secretary, Punjab State Legal Services Authority. He delivered a lecture on the functioning of Legal Services Authority and encouraged the students to take part in it as a paralegal volunteers.

Guest Lecture: Abrogation of Article 370

On 29th August, 2019 our esteemed guest Prof. (Dr.) Devinder Singh from Department of Laws, Panjab University Chandigarh, shared his thoughts on recent developments around Article 370. It was an informative lecture for pupils as he also elucidated the historical background of Article 370.

Novices Moot Court Competition

Novices Moot Court Competition is an annual event of the Army Institute of Law, Mohali, in which students who join the course of B.A.L.L.B. are introduced to the activity of mooting. Moot is the mock activity on how the legal proceedings take place in the courts. Novices is a beginners's guide for the First year's students to make them learn formal legal writing and drafting, to develop good and effective oratory skills and to work as a team in coordination with each other. This year the Competition was held from 19th to 22nd August, 2019. The rounds were nail biting as rigorous questioning was done by the judges. With the end of the final round, the following came out to be the winners - Category Teams Cash Prizes Winners TC 12 - Khushi Singh (1901) & V Prisha (1914) Rs. 2800 Runners-up TC 19 – Rajat Sharma (1965) & Akash A M (1944) Rs. 2200 Best Student ...

Thursday Activity - Psychology & Law: An Interface

On 1st August, 2019 our esteemed guest Dr. Upneet Lalli, Deputy Director, Institution of Correctional Administration Chandigarh, delivered a lecture on the topic "Psychology and Law: An Interface". She discussed the close relationship between psychology and law.   It was an instructive session for students as two distinct disciplines have much in common.

Intra Moot Court Competition 2019

On 18th April, 2019 the finals of the annual Institute Moot Court Competition were conducted in the Multi-Purpose Hall. This year's propostion was framed by Dr. Bajirao Rajwade and Dr. Puja Jaiswal. It was based on criminal law, primarily murder and abetment. The number of teams that participated in the competition were eight in total. The following​ were adjudged as the winners: Best team - Trisha Mukherjee & Gaurav Hooda Runner's up- Aaryan & Sachit Khurana Best advocate- Gaurav Hooda Best memorial- Devyank & Hitika
