7th Convocation

AIL’s 7th Annual Convocation was held on Saturday, 24th November 2018. The venue was inside the campus in Mohali at the newly unveiled Sports Complex of 1.44 acres.

The esteemed Guests of Honour for the Convocation were Hon’ble Mr Justice A B Chaudhari, Judge,  Punjab & Haryana High Court; Lt Gen Surinder Singh, AVSM, VSM, ADC, GOC-IN-C, Western Command  & Patron-In-Chief, AIL; Prof  (Dr) B S Ghuman Vice Chancellor  Punjabi University, Patiala and Maj Gen M L Aswal, MG AOC, Western Command  & Chairman, AIL.


 The Convocation began with a majestic and grand procession of Bagpipers that welcomed the esteemed guests. This was followed by the National Anthem. Degrees were awarded to the students of B.A.LL.B. of batches 2012-17, 2013-18 and LL.M.2014-15, 2015-16 and 2016-2017.

The ability to formulate your thoughts is something that everybody possess. However, it is the ability to put across your thoughts in such a manner that they appeal to those listening, is the gift of oration. Everybody is a speaker, but not everybody is an orator.  The annual edition of the Intra-Institute Debate Competition was organized on the 15 th of February, 2018. The debate was organized in two rounds with the first eliminations round being organized on the 13 th February, open to the whole student body. INTRA INSTITUTE MOOT COURT COMPETITION 2018

For students of law, mooting is perhaps the most important skill one must hone. To facilitate the students in getting optimum mooting experience, the Army Institute of Law holds the Intra-Institute Moot Court Competition annually.  The final round of the Intra-Institute Moot Court Competition 2018 was held on the 12th of April 2018. The competition was conducted over 2 preliminary rounds held on 10th and 11th of April 2018 and semi-final and final round held on the 12th. The competition saw 16 teams fighting out the Proposition prepared by Mr. Anil Malhotra, senior advocate. The preliminary and semi-final rounds were presided by faculty members of the institute.
